"List news" widget
This page only applies to users of the Jadu® content management system.
A configurable widget that can be used for different purposes on different pages.
Restrict news to a single category for use on a category homepage.
Alternatively, set it up for auditing. If your site has been going a while, you will have lots of old news stories in your archive. The great stories you'll want to keep, but that item about a car boot sale a year ago needs to go.
Worse, you may have some stories that have been overtaken by events and are now just plain wrong. Customers can still find them through the search. Can you see a complaint coming?
You can audit your items one at a time using the cms, but TopCode's "List news" widget makes the job a lot easier.
- Lists all your news items or restrict to a category
- Show links to the full story or show the full story in-line
- Set audit mode to show non-live news, their date and their author
- As you scan read them, use the "Edit in CMS" link if you see any that need deleting or changing. The editor opens in the right place in a new tab. CMS account needed.
- Gives the total number of news stories matching your criteria
What does it look like?
This is an example. The actual appearance is determined from your site's style sheet.
In a test, a page with 435 news items loaded in 4 seconds.

Widgets are customised to suit the customer's requirements, Jadu® cms version, setup and styling. Installation is by TopCode's developer and this requires temporary access for TopCode to parts of your cms. Widgets are installed through the cms and do not alter the Jadu® cms source code.
After installation, your webmaster uses the cms to put widget instances anywhere where they are required. Each instance can be configured using widget settings.
Requirements vary between customers and systems, so charges are by quotation. Charges include installation and maintenance for 1 year. TopCode is not registered for VAT.
Your licence to use any TopCode code lasts indefinitely. You may modify the code for your own use, but you may not pass it on to third parties.
Alternatively TopCode can provide services at an hourly rate, if required through your preferred agency staff supplier.
